Engineering that puts people first
I have a background spanning mental health, education, and research in HCI and medical imaging labs. These experiences inform how I approach engineering and design. My work puts people first, creating accessible, well-engineered applications grounded in understanding the people using them.
Below is a rough framework of how I work, which I adapt to each project's gaps, needs, and constraints.
Understand
People are experts of their own experience—my job is to listen. Listening early catches costly surprises, like student-privacy rules (FERPA) that ruled out a redesign's integrations.
Design
Research, cognitive science, and aesthetics inform my process. I also love a good experiment, like the ivy on this page, generated in code and grown by your scrolling.
Build
I build reliable systems that don't hang or annoy users, testing early with prototypes and pilots. AI augments my process, speeding up redesign and engineering.
